We work hard to maintain an environment in which employees are respected. TMC uses a “For Cause Employment Standard” in which your employment cannot be ended without a valid cause. We recruit and retain a diverse staff reflective of the patients and community we serve.
All employees are empowered and encouraged to affect positive change at Tulane Medical Center. Input about your job and surroundings are crucial to good patient care and a rewarding work life. The Employee Advisory Group is a group of employees that meet monthly to share ideas. There is an employment dispute resolution process to resolve a complaint or disciplinary action. An annual survey of all employees is conducted. The information is used to create action plans aimed at improving our work environment.
Tulane Medical Center is committed to staffing levels that enable you to provide quality and compassionate care to patients in a manner that also ensures your safe and well-being, and maintains your continuity of income. Work schedules must be posted 14 days in advance. The RN floating policy requires nurses be given an orientation to the unit where they will be assigned. There is no mandatory overtime unless the employee requests it, there is an emergency or patient safety is at risk.
401K participants receive a 100% match on their contributions, up to 9%, based on years of service. 100% coverage for eligible in-patient expenses when you are admitted to an HCA-affiliated facility. Three choices in the level of healthcare coverage allow you to pick the plan that best suits your healthcare needs. Labor market data for compensation trends is reviewed twice per year. Market adjustments are made to maintain a competitive compensation program.

Seven holidays are scheduled each year. Non-exempt employees are paid time and a half if you work on one of the schedule holidays!
